Crowds around the holidays

How do you deal with it?

Purchasing stress

Will it be the busiest or the most wonderful time of the year? The festive months are just around the corner and for most people that means lots of fun! But also... a lot of hustle and bustle. Will it be Saint Nicholas or Christmas or maybe a bit of both? Work goes on, presents "must" be bought, you want a nice outfit. And if you have children... what will they wear during the holidays? And then, of course, the Christmas dinner... As is often the case, good preparation is half the battle. We would like to give you some tips on how to make the gift-buying process run smoothly.

Number of persons
It sounds logical, but insight helps. How many people do you want to buy presents for? Is this just for St Nicholas or Christmas, or do you celebrate both holidays a bit? Are you still going somewhere and would you like to bring a small gift then? Ask everyone to pass on their wishes in time Often, due to time, you will hear plenty that you think "nice for the holidays". But when the time comes, you have long since forgotten about it. Unless you write it down right away, of course. Make notes in your phone and just start very early. It really makes a difference!

Which amount
What amount do you want to spend? Not just for presents, but also for that bunch of flowers or Christmas arrangement. A new outfit, Christmas dinner. Maybe another nice outing. Before you know it, you will go into the new year broke. And will you go for bigger gifts? Or just a little smaller? Don't forget that the holidays are mainly about conviviality. So make a budget so you know where you stand and keep it manageable. After all, life is already expensive enough.

Choices
Deciding in advance what to buy for whom saves a huge amount of time. No more wandering from shop to shop, or comparing digital offers at the last minute. And does someone want a slightly bigger gift? Then consider doing it together with friends or family. Choose between ordering online or buying (locally) in shops. In any case, get what you can as early as possible. This will save queues in the shops, because the closer to the holidays the busier it gets in the shops. Parcel services are also very busy at the end of the year. This sometimes causes delays in deliveries. The earlier you order, the smaller this chance is.
