No Black Friday
For many companies, Black Friday is a day to get as many people to buy as much as possible. Companies give high discounts to convince customers to buy that one product especially now. For consumers, this offers a great opportunity to stock up on St Nicholas and Christmas presents cheaper. A day, and nowadays often several days in a row, when people consume excessively. Delivery vans drive back and forth just to deliver the packages on time. And those who think that delivery is all that matters are wrong. Many companies find that more is ordered than is eventually taken. And this means returns. So once again parcels in the post and handling to process the returns. This does not feel right to us. We have therefore decided not to participate in Black Friday this year either.
A difficult choice?
No, this is not a difficult choice for us. In fact, we stand behind our product and the prices we charge for it. A lot of care and attention goes into the development of our products and the service we provide. Our customers often consciously choose our products. Precisely because of this attention, the properties of our products and their quality.
In addition, our staff are dear to us. We work with a small team and we like to keep our people happy. Participating in Black Friday puts a huge pressure on our processes and manpower to keep everything running smoothly. Not only internally would this create a huge workload, we also see this with external parties like our delivery staff. They have to pull out all the stops to get the parcels delivered on time. We do not want to contribute (negatively) to this.
No discount at all?
So do we not give any discounts at all? Yes, from time to time we do have a promotion. For example for our newsletter readers as a thank you for their previous purchases and interest in us and our company. Or when introducing a new product. We often put this product online before it is available. This allows the consumer to get to know our newcomer in advance. As a thank you for placing a pre-order and for waiting for delivery, we sometimes offer a discount.
Or, for example, when purchasing several products at once. We do this in the form of offering combo deals. We would like to introduce as many people as possible to our products and the advantages they offer. Buying several products at once saves us handling. We then offer a discount in return.
In short, a conscious choice not to participate in Black Friday. No exorbitant discounts, but sustainability and attention to our company, its people, products and cooperating parties.
